FOUNDER SPOTLIGHT
“I thought I was learning how to prepare for exiting my business. I couldn’t have been more wrong.”
— Dennis Devlin Founder & Entrepreneur
I Came Looking for an Exit Strategy
As entrepreneurs, we’re conditioned to solve problems, carry responsibility, and always look toward what’s next. When I enrolled in The Founder’s Transition Lab, I expected to learn how to prepare for exiting my business. I assumed we’d focus on succession, retirement, and planning the next chapter.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
What Chris Evans and Lisa Bosse helped me discover was that the greatest challenge wasn’t leaving my business—it was letting go of the beliefs, responsibilities, and identity that I had unconsciously carried for decades.
A Different Kind of Journey
Over three months, they guided me through one of the most meaningful personal and professional journeys of my life. This wasn’t therapy, and it wasn’t business consulting. It was something much more powerful. They created a structured process that helped me understand why I had operated the way I had for so many years, challenged assumptions I didn’t even realize I was making, and gave me a completely new way of thinking about work, purpose, responsibility, and life itself.
What impressed me most was that the transformation wasn’t accidental. Every session was built intentionally on the one before it. The pre-work was thoughtful. The coaching was insightful without ever feeling prescriptive. Chris and Lisa had an extraordinary ability to ask the right questions at exactly the right time, allowing me to discover my own answers rather than simply giving me theirs.
“The biggest surprise was realizing that I wasn’t really preparing to exit a business—I was preparing to change the internal operating system that had guided most of my life.”
What I Learned
I learned the difference between burden and stewardship.
I learned that peace doesn’t have to wait until every goal is accomplished.
I learned that I don’t have to force the next chapter into existence—I simply need to participate in it.
Most importantly, I learned that my worth has never depended on how much I accomplish or how much responsibility I carry.
That realization has changed how I think about my business, my family, my relationships, my future, and myself.
The Results
The practical outcomes have been significant. I’ve intentionally right sized my business, clarified my role in building another business alongside my business partner, and developed a much healthier relationship with uncertainty, responsibility, and planning.
But the internal outcomes are what matter most. I experience greater peace, greater trust, greater self-compassion, and a much clearer understanding of the life I want to create moving forward.
“The greatest return on this investment wasn’t a better exit strategy—it was becoming a better version of myself.”
MY RECOMMENDATION
“If you’re a founder who thinks this program is about selling your business or figuring out what you’ll do next, you’re only seeing part of the picture.
This program is about becoming the person who is ready for whatever comes next.
It is about learning how to transition from a life organized around achievement, responsibility, and control to one grounded in purpose, freedom, trust, stewardship, and presence.
I can say without hesitation that this has been one of the most transformational experiences of my life.
Chris and Lisa have created something truly unique. They are not simply helping founders leave their businesses—they are helping them rediscover themselves.
I strongly recommend The Founder’s Transition Lab without reservation to any founder who wants to navigate not only the business transition ahead of them, but the personal transition that ultimately matters even more.
Ultimately, the Founder’s Transition Lab didn’t teach me how to leave my business. It taught me how to enter the next chapter of my life with greater clarity, freedom, trust, and peace than I thought possible.
